Cal/OSHA Enforcement Inspectors

Cal/OSHA is hiring Enforcement Inspectors.  These are field positions that conduct compliance inspections in many different settings and consult with employers on a wide range of health and safety issues.

Under the general direction of the Senior Industrial Hygienist (Supervisor) with the Cal/OSHA Enforcement Branch, the incumbent is responsible for performing independently the full range of professional journey level safety and health work associated with occupational safety and health hazards in places of employment throughout the State. The incumbent anticipates, evaluates, recognizes, and recommends corrective actions/controls of occupational safety and health hazards. The incumbent conducts safety and health inspections in a variety of industries including industrial, medical, agriculture, and manufacturing worksites, industrial hygiene monitoring of chemical, biological, and physical agents, accident investigations, consultations, and journey level assignments, related to occupational safety and health hazards.

Safety Coordinator

Oversees the Safety program for a local Crane and Trucking Company.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage & Supervise 1 employee.
  • Oversee the Safety Training of New employees, during the Onboarding process, and Existing Employees, quarterly in two locations.
  • Visit current job sites to inspect working conditions.
  • Work with Employees during Workman’s Comp claims, work with insurance adjusters & process accident reports.
  • Work with Office & Government Officials to upkeep current licenses and certifications.
  • Manage OSHA Logs with current year data.
  • Monitor third party customer websites with up-to-date Safety information.
  • Coordinate with CEO with special projects.

Job Qualifications

  • Good critical thinking skills and teamwork attitude.
  • Needs to have strong knowledge and skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, Online Search Engines.
  • Strong planning, prioritizing and organization skills with attention to details and accuracy.
  • Great communication skills, written and oral.  
  • Flexible and Adaptable.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) necessary.
  • College degrees a plus. 
  • Knowledge of how Cranes operates a must.
  • Safety Credentials a plus.
