Safety Coordinator (2nd Shift)

Position Summary Tasteful Selections is looking for a Safety Coordinator to lead our 2nd shift safety initiatives. The successful candidate will be able to work nights and some weekends. This position is responsible for assisting the Safety Manager in minimizing the risk of job-related accidents, including monitoring operations to eliminate hazardous activities. Our Safety Coordinator will play a key role in policy development to promote OSH (occupational safety and health) awareness and create a workplace culture that focuses on safety.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Conduct job hazard analysis of all positions on the production floor
  • Assist Safety Manager in conducting annual refresher training to all employees in the area of health, safety, ergonomics, and other required areas
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in all areas of safety
  • Facilitate employee-led behavior-based safety process in a team based environment
  • Walk through production floor regularly to ensure that safety protocols are followed by employees
  • Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and establish measurable standards for the purpose of making continuous improvement recommendations
  • Work with different departments, including production, warehouse, QC, and maintenance to ensure workplace safety standards are implemented and enforced
  • Assist with employee incident investigation to uncover root cause and track completion of corrective actions
  • Maintain records for all work related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist management in developing effective counter-measures to improve safety objectives
  • Address any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety with Safety Manager and/or Management Team
  • Compiles data, generates reports, and distribute reports to appropriate parties
  • Help maintain and manage the EHS programs, policies, and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Administer new hire orientation safety training as needed
  • Participate in monthly safety committee meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ years of work experience in environmental, health, and safety related role
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED or First Responder
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. to be considered for this position
  • Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA, EPA, NFPA regulations, policies, programs, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and accident/injury investigation procedures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and accomplish objectives with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and trainings to all level of employees

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or related field of study
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional) Certification
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • Risk management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports and complete audit procedures
  • EHS Certification (CHST, OHST, CSP, CIH)

Manager, EHS – Machinary Safety

The Manager, EHS – Machinary Safety will support the effort in bringing World Class EHS to The Wonderful Company by providing innovative EHS programs specficslly in the areas of Machine Guarding, Lockout / Tagout & Electrcial Safety.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Provide technical expertise in the area of EHS that support our Machinary Safety initaitives such as Lockout / Tagout, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety by provide consultation and technical assistance to multiple companies and locations.
  • Trains, mentors, and coach’s business partners as well as monitoring site practices and conditions.
  • Support the development, communication, implementation of the Safety Culture Change Process for The Wonderful Company.
  • Provide guidance, training and mentorship to ensure the professional development of internal resources.
  • Interfaces with regulatory agencies and outside vendors as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Track and provide insight into common issues, trends, problems, and opportunities to reduce incidents.
  • Identifies and implements best practices within EHS.
  • Participates on internal assessment team; assist operations in addressing assessment recommendations.
  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable corporate, federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
  • Remain informed on developing regulatory requirements, particularly on a state and local level; identify potential impact to The Wonderful Company and its companies.
  • Review internal EHS policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate.

Manager, EHS – Construction Safety
