Essential Duties: Ensures compliance with air, water, and waste pollution control regulations through integrated support of and participation in production operations by performing the following duties: plans, implements, and monitors air, water, and waste programs to ensure compliance with applicable local, state and federal rules and regulations, assesses organization facilities to detect existing or potential environmental violations, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented, interacts with government agencies to address air, waste and water quality compliance issues, coordinates environmental testing, sampling and other analyses as required; reviews associated protocols and final reports prior to agency submittal, compiles and prepares data and submits required periodic reports to regulatory agencies, including but not limited to program compliance reports, permit re-evaluations, equipment permit applications, source testing reports, NOV responses, etc, maintains complete records related to air quality control, waste disposal, water quality and underground storage tanks, represents the organization in community or industry groups and programs, performs special projects as assigned, may occasionally be required to respond to emergency situations, may be required to use personal vehicle to travel between offices and field locations. Overtime occasionally required.
Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor's degree and five-plus years related experience and training in the oil and gas industry. Ability to apply a wide variety of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. When visiting platform locations, the employee must occasionally travel via boat or helicopter and use a Personnel basket to swing to transfer between a platform or pier and moving vessels. Occasionally required to wear a respirator (SCBA) and other equipment to protect hearing, eyes, body, legs, feet, toes, arms, hands fingers and head. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold or heat, dry or wet environments, high humidity, confined spaces, elevated heights, moving, vibrating or rotating mechanical equipment, fumes or airborne particles (H2S or “sour gas”), toxic or caustic chemicals (Benzene), and outside weather conditions.
