The ASSE Standards Development Committee is pleased to inform you that an interview with Gary Bell, Chair of the ANSI Z535 Accredited Standards Committee (ASC), has been posted under the Interviews section of the Council on Practices and Standards (CoPS) website:

In this interview, Bell, who has over 25 years of experience in product safety and liability prevention, provides a history of the ANSI Z535 standards series. He also describes the latest revisions to the standards, which specify criteria for safety color codes, environmental facility safety signs, safety symbols, product safety signs and labels and accident prevention tags, and discusses the ASC’s activities and goals for this year.

ASSE members continue to inquire about what the Z535 standards series encompasses and how they can best incorporate these standards into their own safety practices. We feel that this interview answers many of these questions and more.
